Despite an agreed buy option of £12.5 million, the Bundesliga club is reportedly looking to negotiate a fee “far” below £8.4 million (€10 million), according to Bild via Transfermarkt.

Frankfurt, who took Kristensen on loan last summer, have been vocal about wanting him in their squad long-term. However, they are not planning to trigger the buy clause and are hoping Leeds will agree to a significantly reduced sum.

Leeds manager Daniel Farke already has Jayden Bogle and Sam Byram in his squad, making it improbable he’d reintegrate the Denmark international, even if the club secures Premier League promotion.
