Nick, a Maple Leafs player, is requesting a $50 million transfer fee owing to,Updated 7/4/24.

After losing Tyler Bertuzzi, T.J. Brodie, and Ilya Samsonov to free agency, among others, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Brad Treliving spent July 1 trying to shore up a team with far too many holes. He added Chris Tanev and Jani Hakanpää to the back end, as well as re-signing Max Domi and Timothy Liljegren. However, reports circulated that Nick Robertson wanted out of Toronto, reducing their depth up front even more than the loss of Bertuzzi.

bottom six, Robertson appears to be the best option for Treliving — and his thoughts on the subject support that notion. “I have certainly known that there was some frustration with Nick, but we look at Nick as an excellent player,” Treliving said of the 22-year-old’s up-and-down career with the Maple Leafs. “There is an excellent chance for Nick here. We need him to be an effective player for us.”
