Transfer dealings in the Championship are gaining momentum, and while the activity at Fratton Park has slowed somewhat, new signings are on the horizon.
According to the club’s sporting director, Rich Hughes, who recently spoke to The News, “everything is progressing quite nicely.” He mentioned that Portsmouth is working on three to four deals, aiming to build on the five additions already secured this summer.

Leeds ‘agree’ deal for Kamara
Leeds United have reportedly reached an agreement to sell midfielder Glen Kamara to Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais for a fee around €10m (£8.6m), as per reports from L’Equipe and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Kamara only joined Elland Road last summer after a deal worth approximately £5m was agreed with Scottish Premiership giants Rangers.
Rennes were interested in the midfielder last summer before he chose Leeds. He made 42 appearances last season as Daniel Farke’s side lost to Southampton in the Championship play-off final in May.
Although Leeds were not under pressure to sell Kamara, especially after academy graduate Archie Gray moved to Tottenham Hotspur for £40m, the opportunity to make a profit on Kamara has led to his departure. Leeds are keen to comply with the Championship’s Profitability and Sustainability rules after missing out on promotion.
Bogle attracting interest
In light of Kamara’s potential exit, Leeds are reportedly eyeing Sheffield United right-back Jayden Bogle, who can also operate in midfield and across the back line.
According to Mike McGrath of The Telegraph, Leeds are now preparing an approach for Bogle as they look to bolster their squad before hosting Portsmouth on August 10.
Bogle has just 12 months left on his contract with the Blades after a one-year extension was triggered by the club at the end of last season. Should Bogle decline to sign a new deal, Sheffield United will need to decide whether to cash in or risk losing him for free next summer.
Since joining the Blades in the summer transfer window of 2020, Bogle has made 103 appearances for the club. Before his stint at Sheffield United, he came through Derby County’s academy and made his professional debut with the Rams.
