Done Deal – Leicester City have struck an Agreement with World-class Premier League star who has SIGNED a 3-year deal with the Foxes

Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has committed his future to Leicester City by signing a new contract, which will keep him at the Premier League club until at least June 2027.

The 27-year-old Super Eagles star joined the Foxes from Belgian side Genk in January 2017 and has since made over 270 appearances in all competitions, scoring 17 goals.

During his seven and a half years at Leicester, Ndidi has played a key role in the club’s successes, including winning the FA Cup, the FA Community Shield, and securing promotion back to the Premier League by winning the EFL Championship last season.

“I feel great, I feel excited, I feel at home,” Ndidi told the club’s official website.

“That’s the most important thing. I feel really happy to continue with the club. My family is settled here and everyone back home, when they say Ndidi, they say Leicester also! It’s really amazing to be a part of this journey going forward.”

Ndidi also expressed his enthusiasm about working with new Leicester manager Steve Cooper.

“I’ve had a chance to speak with (Cooper). I spoke to him during the holidays when he came in,” said Ndidi.

“He had some good ideas to share with me, so it was really, really, really amazing and I’m looking forward to working with him. He’s a great guy, he’s funny. I look forward to working with him, it’s very exciting.”

Ndidi will be aiming to feature for Leicester when they make their Premier League return with a home match against Tottenham Hotspur on August 19.

Meanwhile, after failing to secure Ndidi’s signature, Everton have shifted their focus to Chelsea’s Nigerian midfielder, Lesley Ugochukwu.

Everton had shown interest in Ndidi before he committed to Leicester with a three-year contract, binding him to the King Power Stadium until June 30, 2027.

Now, Everton are looking to capitalize on Ugochukwu’s lack of playing time at Chelsea last season and persuade him to make the switch, with other clubs also keeping an eye on his situation.

Reports have suggested that Chelsea are contemplating Ugochukwu’s future, with a loan move being a potential option for the young midfielder this summer.

As the transfer window progresses, Everton will hope to bolster their squad with Ugochukwu, aiming to strengthen their midfield options ahead of the new Premier League season.
