“QPR Suffer Huge Setback as Star Player Ruled Out of Crucial Leeds United Showdown!”

November 8, 2024

Queens Park Rangers have endured a challenging start to the season, facing setbacks both on and off the pitch.

Queens Park Rangers will be without star attacker Ilias Chair for tomorrow’s clash with Leeds United, after he sustained a knee injury during their midweek defeat to Middlesbrough. Head coach Marti Cifuentes confirmed Chair’s absence, revealing that the playmaker is set to be sidelined for “weeks.”

“It seems that there is some injury in his knee, but the length and specifics of the injury I cannot tell you (until more is known),” Cifuentes explained in yesterday’s press conference. “I don’t want to say more than I should until I get the final results, but I will say that it looks like weeks. How many, I cannot tell you at the moment.”

Chair’s absence is a major blow to QPR, who have already had a challenging start to the season, with his creativity and skill being a key element in their attacking play.

Queens Park Rangers head into tomorrow’s clash with Leeds United severely short-handed, as injuries sideline Jake Clarke-Salter, Karamoko Dembele, Michael Frey, Kenneth Paal, and Morgan Fox, along with star attacker Ilias Chair. While West Ham loanee Harrison Ashby could be set to feature, QPR remain desperate for a second league win as they sit second-from-bottom, four points from safety.

Despite the mounting injuries, head coach Marti Cifuentes is focused on making the most of the available squad. “The reality is we have a lot of injuries, unfortunately, and that is punishing us because we are missing a lot of important players,” Cifuentes explained. “But my job is to work with the guys that are available and get the best out of them.“

Every team in the league would struggle with eight or nine players out, but that is where we are. We need to make the best of it,” he added, determined to rally his side for a tough test against third-placed Leeds.
