The Broncos came out successful this year and are receiving $500 million from the national head coach. The Denver Broncos still need to handle a few big veteran contracts.

The two biggest cap hits on the team are wide receiver Courtland Sutton and left tackle Garrett Bolles, with defensive lineman D.J. Jones following closely behind. The Broncos lack a clear suitable alternative for Bolles, thus they need him. Similarly, Jones has few real competitors for his position.

But this season, Sutton is a part of a deeper wide receiver group, and Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report proposes a move that may lessen the blow of a trade for the Broncos.

On June 27, Knox said, “Denver isn’t looking to trade Sutton, but that could change if the right offer comes along.” In this fictitious scenario, the 24-year-old receiver Tutu Atwell and two third-round picks are exchanged for Sutton, who hasn’t had a 1,000-yard season since 2019.

under addition, under this situation the Broncos would be accumulating picks instead of sending any out.

Sutton had a career-high 10 touchdowns and 772 yards at the end of the previous campaign. His 2020 ACL tear left him with a few minor injuries to deal with. Additionally, he has only had one season with 1,000 yards.

Knox cites Sutton’s age—he turns 29 in October—as well as his remarks against former Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson as justifications for Denver to let go. In addition, Sutton is about to enter the last year of a $60.8 million, four-year contract with no indication that an extension is forthcoming. Most significantly, Sutton has consistently expressed his desire to remain with the Broncos and end the team’s postseason drought while reacting adversely to trade rumors. If they don’t make it in 2024, it will be nine seasons. He even has faith in rookie quarterback Bo Nix, selected in the first round.

Sutton told reporters on June 11 that he hoped to be a part of the larger picture. I’ve been informed that this is the strategy. We’ll see what transpires; I’ve also heard some other things. I hope to be able to participate in the plan of action. Furthermore, I don’t think there will be a soft reset. I’m hoping, working toward, and remaining in God’s presence so that this won’t take three years to complete. Right now, we want to triumph.

“I believe that because Bo is a young man and the one they take very seriously, I am aware of the game’s politics. I am aware that everyone is supporting
