“The TV numbers are fantastic and I think that’s one of the things. I think we were insulated with TV because of the merger coming together late,” Johnston said. “Getting people to go to the games this year was a bit of a challenge and I think we need to own a little bit of that because we were late with the merger, we were late with the schedule, and there were things that go on.”The ratings were fantastic, but the attendance is something we need to sort out,” he said.

It may also have hurt that they were not present in several of the country’s most important markets. Many of the UFL teams play in medium-sized markets such as Birmingham, St. Louis, and San Antonio. Meanwhile, since Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese entered the WNBA, the league’s attendance has increased dramatically.
