Goodison Park will host its final pre-season friendly as Everton face Italian giants Roma on Saturday, August 10, with a 5 pm kick-off.
As reported in the ECHO, the match against Roma, owned by the Friedkin Group, coincides with Everton’s majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri being in a period of exclusivity with the Friedkin Group to sell his 94.1% stake in the club.
This game comes a week before Everton’s opening fixture of the 2024/25 season at home to Brighton & Hove Albion. It marks the last campaign at Goodison Park before the club moves to their new 52,888-capacity waterfront stadium for the start of the 2025/26 season.
Roma, coached by former player Danielle De Rossi, boast talents like Argentina World Cup winner Paulo Dybala, Italy midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini, and English duo Tammy Abraham and Chris Smalling. They finished sixth in Serie A last season and reached the semi-finals of the Europa League.
Tickets for the final Goodison friendly are priced at £20 for adults, £15 for over-65s, and £5 for juniors (U18s) for Season Ticket Members, Hospitality Members, and Official Members. For general sale to non-members, tickets are £25 for adults, £20 for over-65s, and £10 for juniors (U18s).
Season Ticket Members can purchase from 10 am on Monday, July 15, while Official Members can buy their tickets from 10 am on Wednesday, July 17. Tickets will go on general sale from 10 am on Friday, July 19.
Everton’s friendly against Roma is part of a pre-season schedule that includes away trips to Irish side Sligo Rovers—Seamus Coleman’s former club—this Friday at 4 pm; League Two’s Salford City at the Peninsula Stadium on Saturday, July 27, at 3 pm; and matches against Championship sides Coventry City on Tuesday, July 30, at 7:45 pm, and Preston North End on Saturday, August 3, at 3 pm.
