I’ve been in a lot of rooms with folks who aren’t deserving of the opportunity. And if you’re not worthy of the opportunity, I’m going to be upset about the one you were given,” Williams explained. “However, I understand how the game is played. 99.9% of the time, none of those folks resemble ourselves. That is not to defend nepotism; rather, it is to point out that Bronny James was an ideal candidate to gain from it. That does not, however, imply that he is qualified to play in the NBA after one season of collegiate basketball, where he averaged 4.8 points per game. Furthermore, is this the best decision for Bronny James’s development? Or is this just about providing LeBron the opportunity to live out his goal of playing with his kid in the NBA?
Stephen A. Smith, on the other hand, was less concerned with Bronny’s qualifications and more interested in echoing Williams’ stance that LeBron earned the right to have his kid drafted into the NBA.
