DONE DEAL : To Phoenix’s head coach, Mason Plumlee, rejecting to continue with Phoenix for a worth of 100 million in 2024-2025 deal

To Phoenix’s head coach, Mason Plumlee, rejecting to continue with Phoenix for a worth of 100 million in 2024-2025 deal,Mason Plumlee signs a one-year deal with the Phoenix Suns.

Mason Plumlee leaves the Los Angeles Clippers to sign with the Phoenix Suns for an undisclosed sum on a one-year contract.

Mason Plumlee has left the Los Angeles Clippers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. The center has signed a one-year contract with the Phoenix Suns. Woj did not divulge the pay figures, but did say that the Suns hope to add to their frontcourt depth with this move.Although his efforts with the Clippers were critiqued, he played well in his job and added size and depth to the squad alongside Ivica Zubac. However, the Clippers did not prioritize bringing him back, and Plumlee elected to join the Suns, who are also in contention for a championship.

The Suns will be severely limited in their chase of free agents because they do not have much cap money to work with. Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker make more than $130 million this season, leaving virtually little money for the Suns to build a roster around them. The Suns are expected to spend approximately $525 million on player wages in 2025-26. They must make a long playoff run in the coming years and challenge for an NBA championship to justify their investment. Suns general manager James Jones will have to be very strategic in his signings this year to strengthen the club.

This year, the Suns will create a squad around their big three, but they will need to rely on players who are prepared to take significant salary cuts, or guys who are betting on themselves and taking the bare minimum to earn a future payday.
