“Massive Transfer Mistake! Celtic Passed on a £27M Superstar for a Total Flop – Fans Outraged!”

“Celtic head coach Brendan Rodgers was a man on a mission during the summer transfer window, navigating a whirlwind of transfers as he reshaped his squad for the season ahead.”

The summer transfer window saw plenty of action at Parkhead, with Celtic witnessing significant player movement. The most high-profile exit was Matt O’Riley’s transfer to Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion. Alongside O’Riley, Mikey Johnston, Gustaf Lagerbielke, and Tomoki Iwata also left the club, either on permanent deals or loans, as Celtic cleared the way for a fresh wave of new signings to bolster Brendan Rodgers’ squad.

The Celtic board showed their unwavering trust in Brendan Rodgers by breaking the club’s transfer record to secure Belgium international Arne Engels from Augsburg for a reported £11 million. Along with Engels, the club also strengthened their squad by bringing in Adam Idah, Paulo Bernardo, Alex Valle, Luke McCowan, and Auston Trusty, giving Rodgers a variety of options across the pitch before the summer transfer window closed.

Engels, Bernardo, and McCowan have all joined Celtic to battle for a starting role in midfield, with hopes high that they can bring more success to the position than the ill-fated signing of Ismaila Soro in early 2020. The Hoops are banking on this new trio to deliver the quality that Soro couldn’t quite provide during his time at Parkhead.
