Kuhn’s ‘Amazing’ Double Against Former Club Leipzig as Celtic Dazzle in Champions League Showdown!

The German winger stole the show by scoring twice against his former club, RB Leipzig, delivering a standout performance that had Celtic fans buzzing.

Nicolas Kuhn described his “amazing” goals against RB Leipzig as a career highlight and believes Celtic’s victory showcased the club’s growth on the Champions League stage. The German winger leveled the score with a brilliant curling shot after Leipzig’s early opener, then added a second to put Celtic in the lead. Reo Hatate later sealed the deal with a third, securing three crucial points for the hosts in a thrilling Tuesday night clash at Celtic Park.

The victory puts Celtic within striking distance of the Champions League knockout stages, with Kuhn’s two-goal heroics playing a pivotal role in the team’s success. Reflecting on his journey, Kuhn acknowledged how special it felt to score his first Champions League goals against his former club, RB Leipzig, where he spent three formative years in the academy before moves to Ajax, Bayern Munich, and Rapid Vienna.

Kuhn also highlighted the significance of this win, viewing it as a statement after Celtic’s earlier 7-1 defeat to German opposition in the competition. This performance not only demonstrated the team’s resilience but underscored their growth on the European stage.

“It was very good,” Kuhn reflected. “I think we did much better than against Dortmund, and we showed in the Atalanta game that we could defend well. Today, we just made the most of our chances.”

Scoring his first Champions League goal at Celtic Park, Kuhn described the experience as “unbelievable.” He added, “The goal was amazing, and I was really happy, especially to get it against my former club.”

Kuhn’s form has been stellar this season, a significant step up from his early months in Glasgow after joining in January. Initial dental issues impacted his early performances, but now, fully fit and well-settled, he feels confident and in peak condition, ready to make his mark.

“The full pre-season was important for me,” Kuhn shared. “When I first arrived, it was a bit difficult, but my teammates were unbelievable. Everything has come together, and now I can show what I’m capable of.”

He emphasized the value of confidence, adding, “Of course, it’s important to be confident. The staff and my teammates give me that feeling, and I’m happy I can pay them back.”

With Tuesday’s victory, Celtic now have seven points from four games, positioning them mid-table and on course to advance in the Champions League at the halfway mark of the group stage.

Celtic have key home fixtures ahead against Young Boys and Club Brugge, along with challenging away trips to Dinamo Zagreb and Aston Villa. Kuhn believes the team is steadily improving and is determined to push through to the next stage.“

We just try to win every game,” he said. “That’s what we want to do, and hopefully, we get some more points.”

Reflecting on the team’s journey, he added, “With every game, we are growing. We’re coming closer together, and I think we bounced back really well from the Dortmund game. Today showed that we can progress and perform even better.”
