Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig received a message from former Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch wishing he had joined the Whites in the Premier League.
Under Daniel Farke, Leeds is now pushing for automatic promotion from the Championship, but in a perfect world, they would never have been demoted.

Leeds should be content with their “two” proven international number nines (Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo) and one of the Premier League’s greatest talents, Joe Gelhardt, who was hardly played throughout the season, according to Angus Kinnear’s optimistic programme notes at the beginning of the 22–23 season.
Because neither Rodrigo nor Patrick Bamford was able to stay injury-free or reliable enough as strikers for the team to genuinely rely on them, the team was unable to prevent relegation.
Although Rodrigo’s 13 league goals was a respectable return, Leeds had to spend £36 million in January to recruit Georginio Rutter, an extraordinary talent who has shown to be more of a line-leading nine than an all-around nine in order to better connect the midfield to the attack.
Leeds signed players from Jesse Marsch’s prior talent pool, but aside from Tyler Adams, who was a productive midfield destroyer, their Red Bull raids were mainly a bust.
Though he never looked to be on Leeds’ radar despite the connections, striker Benjamin Sesko, who agreed to join Leipzig for £20.6 million in August 2022 and join them in 2023, may have been the best player coming out of Red Bull Salzburg at the time.
Since being fired a year ago, Marsch has made numerous appearances as a pundit on CBS Sports. During his most recent appearance, he spoke with Sesko and expressed his desire to join Leeds:

Leeds needed to add players from all areas of the game to give their squad more balance after selling Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips that summer.
They got that, but until Rutter entered the game, the striker position truly lacked more, and we never received it.
One of the many errors made by Victor Orta was failing to consider the top players on the Red Bull Salzburg team; instead, we signed two mediocre players, Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen.
There was Noah Okafor, Sesko, Karim Adeyemi, and others.
