The University of Miami men’s and women’s basketball teams have added two more players to their rosters in preparation for the 2024–25 campaign. Cameron Williams, a 6-3 forward and honours student who transferred from the University of Michigan, will play her final season as an eligible player for the Hurricanes women’s team. Divine Ugochukwu, a three-star combo guard from the Houston area who is a senior in high school, committed to the Miami men’s team. Williams had 49 starts in 109 games while for the Wolverines. In Michigan’s season-ending defeat to Kansas, she recorded a career-high 23 points against Rutgers and a team-high 18 points. Head coach Tricia Cullop exclaimed, “We’re so excited Cameron is coming to the University of Miami.” “Veteran Cameron hails from the Big Ten, who will offer excellent rebounding, scoring, and experience. She also fits our culture perfectly. Chicago, Illinois, native Williams finished his college career at Michigan with 336 rebounds and 569 points, earning him three Academic All-Big Ten titles. In addition to being a standout student, Williams was recognized as an Academic All-District award by Collegiate Sports Communicator and received Michigan’s Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. She scored in double figures in four of Michigan’s final five games to cap off a successful 2023–24 campaign. One of her best performances as a junior was a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds against Ohio State, ranked third. Williams came out of Whitney Young High School in Chicago as a five-star recruit. Between 1993 until 2008, her father, Aaron, played professionally in the NBA and at Xavier University.

During his time at Clements High School, the 6-foot-3, 180-pound guard from Sugar Land, Texas, averaged 17.1 points, 5.7 assists, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game. Texas A&M, SMU, and Baylor had also extended offers to him. As a senior, he increased his three-point percentage from 21.97 percent as a junior to 37.3 percent. A finalist for the Guy V.
